* Astros reliever Geoff Geary agreed to a $1,125,000, one-year contract Saturday, avoiding arbitration.
* Royals utilityman Ross Gload avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $3.2 million, two-year contract Friday, and Kansas City also reached one-year deals with catcher John Buck and left-hander Jorge De La Rosa.
* The Royals also signed right-hander Brian Lawrence to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, and exchanged arbitration numbers with infielder Esteban German, outfielder Mark Teahen and right-hander Zack Greinke.
* Adam Loewen and the Baltimore Orioles agreed to a one-year contract Friday. The left-hander will receive $816,000 if he spends the entire season in the majors — the maximum 20 percent cut from the $1.02 million he made last year. He will get $663,000 if he’s sent to the minors.
* Lefty specialist Javier Lopez and the Boston Red Sox agreed Friday to an $840,000, one-year contract.
* Matt Diaz and the Atlanta Braves avoided salary arbitration when the outfielder agreed to a $1,225,000, one-year contract on Friday.
* Brad Hennessey and the San Francisco Giants avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $1.6 million, one-year contract Friday.
* The Houston Astros on Friday signed infielder Ty Wigginton to a one-year, $4.35 million contract.
* Florida Marlins closer Kevin Gregg agreed to a $2.5 million contract Friday, and two teammates also accepted one-year deals to avoid arbitration. Right-hander Sergio Mitre agreed to a $1.2 million contract, and utilityman Alfredo Amezaga accepted a $945,000 deal. As a result, the Marlins will have no players in arbitration.
