Cano and the Yankees completed a $30 million, four year contract on Thursday, according to the Associated Press. The deal includes a $14 million dollar team-option for 2012 with a $2 million buyout. If the 2012 option is exercised the deal includes another team-option for $15 million in 2013 with another $2 million buyout. If the Yankees pick up those options, the deal would be worth $57 million over six seasons. Cano hit .309 with 19 home runs and 97 RBI for the Bronx Bombers last season.
* The Baltimore Orioles came to terms with another pitcher Thursday, avoiding arbitration with right-hander Daniel Cabrera by agreeing on a one-year contract for $2,875,000.
* Outfielder Luis Gonzalez finalized his $2 million, one-year contract with the Florida Marlins on Thursday, adding experience to a young roster.
* The Kansas City Royals on Thursday signed righthander Zack Greinke and outfielder Mark Teahen to one-year contracts.
